CSA Ocean Sciences Inc. (CSA) and SeaRobotics Corp. (SRC), both based in Stuart, Florida, today announced the joint development of the next generation Utility Class Autonomous Surface Vessel (ASV). Based on the highly successful, fully integrated SR-Surveyor M1.8 ASV, introduced by SRC in 2019, the new Utility Class ASV will deploy the same fully integrated control, survey, and autonomy systems, providing the market with a fully compatible line of ASVs that are capable of addressing a wide range of tasks – from 1.8 m inshore/nearshore vessels to over 12 m ocean going vessels.

The 15 m multipurpose vessel has been specially configured to support marine geophysical survey. Building upon the capabilities of CSA’s existing nearshore fleet, the R/V Dolphin’s layout includes a large aft working deck, a raised wheelhouse with 360° viewing windows, and a spacious multi-use salon area below decks.

(OSI)’s Cable Operations and Maintenance Support division today announced the successful Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for an offshore oil and gas fiber optic connection in Colombia. This marks an important milestone for this subsea cable engineering services project, contract awarded to OSI by Aviatek in late 2019, which includes the design, installation, and commissioning of a new cable that will provide optimized communication to offshore assets owned by Aviatek’s end-customer.
