Mr. Lincoln Walther was recently inducted into the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Planners, the Professional Institute of the American Planning Association (APA). This induction represents recognition by his peers of Lincoln’s significant contributions to his profession over his career. He has served as a local and state officer in the APA. However more importantly, he has made a unique and significant contribution to the advancement of planning in disaster planning.
For the past 10 years, through Lincoln’s leadership the importance of integrating hazards, both natural (e.g., hurricane, flooding, wildfire, and sea level rise) and manmade (e.g., terrorism), in all local planning and development initiatives and plans has become more widely accepted by those in the planning profession. He has had an opportunity to shape many of Florida’s “cutting edge” hazard mitigation initiatives. Additionally, Lincoln serves as a member of the Florida State Hazard Mitigation Planning Advisory Team and is the Planning Director for CSA, International, Inc.
